ARKNAT 2017

2017 was the premiere year of ARKNAT. In total 15 students were selected to create shelters and restingplaces along the High Coast Trail in the High Coast of Sweden.

The participants were divided into three groups. Team Mountain was given the task to rebuild a windshelter on top of Mount Kulberget. Team Forest was to create a restingplace along Höga Kusten Stigen up Skuleberget. Team Sea were to create a new windshelter along Hålviken.  

HIGHLIGHTS ARKNAT-17

  • All three teams managed to build amazing constructions that will be for public use.
  • Seminars were well visited also by people from the outside.
  • Swedish Television and Swedish Radio covered the workshops.

Mount Kulberget is a wonderful place along the southern part of the High Coast Trail. Team Mounted constructed a shelter that for the thousands of hikers hiking along the High Coast Trail.

On the south side of Mount Skuleberget you find the family friendly hiking path Höga Kusten Stigen. Team Forest built the Forest Cradle – a floating restingplace in the middle of the woods.

Hålviken is a a beautiful beach along the northern part of the High Coast Trail close to the Balesudden National Reserve. Team II will construct a shelter that will replace the current shelter located along the coast.
