(we will, we will) Rock view

Inspired by its surroundings – the high adventurous cliff, the heavy boulders and the lush forest – Rock View accommodates a cozy wind shelter with the possibility for four people to sleep comfortably.

Just like a boulder, the shelter is sunken into the ground, as if it had always been there. The sharp angles, dark colour and the narrow entrance resembling a mountain crack, are other references to the site. Contrasting the hard stone-like outside the inside of the shelter has a warm embracing atmosphere with the massive wooden walls and lamellas letting thin rays of light coming through while giving a glimpse of the surrounding nature.

The shelter is named (we will, we will) Rock view since it draws inspiration from the spectacular view seen from its curved bench and the Queen song “We Will Rock You”, which thrives on the energy of a large crowd—just as the shelter relies on public participation for its creation. Rock View is the product of local collaboration: crafted by Västervik, for Västervik. Now it is all yours!
