Vid Gästabudet kan man både vara social och skygg, dingla med fötterna från den höga bänken eller vila stillsamt under limträbalkens böj. Bänkarnas proportioner är lekfulla och får de flesta att känna sig små och du tvingas på många delar av bordet klättra för att ta dig upp, medans vindskyddets smala spets och låga tak gör dig stor och du får krypa in för att komma på plats.

Vindskyddet är designat med inspiration från historien om Nyköpings gästabud. Historien har två tydliga kontraster, det extroverta och det introverta, vilket även vindskyddet har. Placeringen av Gästabudet är för att förstärka det öppna och det slutna men också för att erbjuda en sittplats för att njuta av den fantastiska vyn över Östersjön.

At Gästabudet you can be both social and shy, swing with your feet from the high bench or quietly rest under the bend of the glulam beam. The proportions of the benches are playful and makes most people feel small and you are on many parts of the bench forced to climb to get up, while the shelter’s sharp point and low ceiling makes you big and makes you crawl to get into place. 
The shelter is designed with inspiration from the history of the Nyköping Banquet (Nyköpings gästabud). The story has two obvious contrasts, the extrovert and the introvert, which the shelter also has. The placement of Gästabudet enhances the open and the closed but it also offers a seat to look at the amazing view over the Baltic Sea.

(where the road ends) and the shelter is situated 5 min walk east in a beautiful setting.

In the year 2020 ARKNAT won the ”Architecute of the Year” awards (Årets Arkitektur). The awards was handed out during the Swedish Design Awards by RUM in Stockholm.
